3) Not considering the location of the lot,
Regardless of whether you already have a lot secured, or you are still in the process of seeking that perfect building spot, there are some things that you need to be mindful of. For instance, does the land slope in any particular direction (which could have a major effect on drainage). Likewise, note which direction the lot faces, as this will have an impact on which side of the house will get the morning and the evening sun.
