The reality is that living in your dream home by the 2017 holiday season is more than likely not realistic. That’s because on average, custom built homes can take anywhere between 10 and 16 months to complete – and, depending on just how personalized you want your new home to be, these additional touches can oftentimes take another 4 to 6 months.
In addition, before a builder can even start to construct your new home, there are things that must be done to prepare the lot that it will be built on. For example, the lot may need to be leveled, as well as possibly cleared of rocks and / or other debris. It may also be necessary to run water and electrical lines to the lot.
Also, you or the builder will need to obtain all of the proper approvals and permits that are needed. The length of time for these items can vary from one location to another, and in some cases, it can have an impact on how long it takes to ultimately complete the project.
The good news is that if you’re planning to build your home in the Central Florida area, there are less likely to be winter weather delays. So, unlike other areas of the country where there are factors like snow and ice to contend with, this isn’t going to be a facet here.
