East Harvard

East Harvard’s narrow street elevation combines pale stucco, a stone-clad porch and a ribbon driveway. Inside, the entry rises beside a dark horizontal stair rail, with a white kitchen and long living space extending toward the rear of the home.

The Brief

Create a two-story College Park home with a defined front entrance, connected living spaces and a side driveway leading toward the garage.

The Response

A sheltered porch and tall glazed entry establish the arrival. The kitchen combines stacked white cabinets, a pale island, dark backsplash and stainless appliances. Ceiling recesses and high windows bring variation to the adjoining rooms, while the stair uses horizontal dark rails above wood-toned treads. The primary bath pairs a freestanding tub with a glazed shower and broad vanity.
