Vanderbilt
A broad upper balcony and stone entry accent give Vanderbilt its street presence. Inside, an open stair and a dark kitchen island connect the two levels, while a wide kitchen pass-through opens directly to the covered patio and pool.
The Brief
Create a two-story College Park residence with a front-facing upper porch, connected interiors and a sheltered outdoor living area beside the pool.
The Response
The front balcony uses horizontal rails beneath a wood-toned ceiling. A floating-style stair repeats the open railing pattern inside, allowing views through the entry hall. White kitchen cabinetry surrounds a dark island, and the broad pass-through above the sink links food preparation to the covered outdoor room. Recessed ceiling lighting defines the living area. At the rear, a long covered patio borders a rectangular pool and lawn.
